  1. When I was working the recall phone bank the other day, one of the people I called was a man who was very much in the forefront on men’s rights. He was out there getting signatures. No way to know what side of an issue many folks will take. That is one of the things that has been interesting about the recall on the local level.

    • Oh, I would agree that the Recall effort and pretty much anything post-February 2011 in Wisconsin has been particularly enlightening as to the diversity of people who also care about things like worker’s rights, jobs, etc. On the other hand, this particular instance from Madison came in the form of a letter to the editor that was particularly eyebrow raising (something like slut shaming or the general worse attributes of “men’s rights activists”).

After having lived most of my life believing in “liberal” Madison, it’s just always interesting to be reminded that Madison is not nearly as homogenous as the WISGOP makes it out to be. Well, that and a reminder that old assumptions die hard. :0)

I don’t know that I can say it enough, but thank you for all that you’ve done for the recall and to highlight the issues in our state!
