Sunday Quotables – Tom Morello

That day I played on the Capitol Square, it was freezing cold and 100,000 people were out there. We could have demanded the governor resign, and we could have made up a list, a workers’ bill of rights for the State of Wisconsin, with ten demands saying: “Nobody goes back to work until he’s out of office and these ten demands are met,” and see how that works out. ‘Cause there was certainly the energy to do that and the momentum to do that….I have a feeling if the energy of the resurgent labor movement, fighting for its life, was to move with this growing Occupy movement, that could be a very potent combination.

– Tom Morello, quoted in “The Progressive” December/January issue
