Little Bird

I’m in the middle of a…secret project.  As in I’ll tell you later.  In the meantime, would you like a little glimpse of a little bird inspired by Aneela Hoey’s “Little Stitches?”  Her doodle, my colors and stitch variations.

Oh, and how about some music for today?  This is what’s playing in our house right now:

  1. Aw, cute little bird! I picked up cross stitching recently, and I’ve been trying not to obsess over it too much. It’s just so much fun, though!

    • Thanks! :0) I used to cross stitch many moons ago and it was rather pleasing to have something to do with your hands in the in-between moments. Handwork is about the only thing that can get me through suspenseful movies (that or reading about what’s going to happen beforehand). It can be a bit addictive with the “just one more stitch” thoughts that hit you or the other things you *could* be doing that just aren’t as interesting. You know…like laundry.

I think what I like best about embroidery (or at least Hooey’s book) is that it can be somewhat free form which fits my “can’t follow directions as they are written” self to a “t.”
